What is the initial phone consultation?
I ask you some questions about why you are seeking therapy to determine if we are a good fit. I also answer your questions.
If I don’t think I can be of help to you, I will refer you to another provider. This is also your opportunity to ask me questions so you can determine if you would like to work with me.
Who is your perfect client?
I love working with people who understand that therapy is a way to enhance their lives rather than fixing what ails them. I love people who are insightful, hardworking, and sponges for knowledge.
What age range do you work with?
I work with individual men and women from ages 18 to 65.

Absolutely. I also enjoy working with polyamorous, polygamist, non-monogamous, and sex-workers.

I am accepting of all religions, non-religions, backgrounds, and ethnicities. I work with Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Buddhists. We are equal and deserve equal access to therapy.
What can I expect from the first session?
We will go over your paperwork. I will ask any questions that I might have with respect to your paperwork. We will discuss your goals for therapy.
What is therapy like with you?
I make therapy fun. I like to laugh. I like to see the humor in everything. It helps with healing. I am compassionate and empathic. I support you through the pain and laugh with you when warranted. Very little surprises me.
How long will I be in therapy?
It depends on what you want from therapy. Therapy is a process and can take time to make progress. Everyone moves at different paces. There is no right or wrong amount of time to be in therapy.

Note that not all insurance covers this. Therefore, you must check with your provider for coverage benefits.
How do I know if you are the correct therapist for me?
I might not be, and that is okay. This is about you. You need to find the correct person, so you feel comfortable and can be open with them. I recommend a few sessions to determine if we are a good fit.
Is our work together confidential?
Unless you threaten to harm yourself or someone else, everything you say to me is between us.
I am obligated to help prevent harm. If you tell me you were hurt by an adult as a child, I am also legally obligated to report this.
What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.” This is a misnomer because we no longer use eye movement in order to help reprocess trauma. We now use a TheraTapper.
EMDR is a technique that requires specialized training. It is used mostly for trauma to help you move forward from it in a safe way. Call me, and I can explain more about it.
